Our History

The dawn of better banking starts with community.

In 2007, five local businessmen convened with a single purpose: to organize a new community bank that was truly responsive to business needs in a way that no financial institution had been to date. These five individuals—all with strong banking backgrounds—identified that a locally owned and managed bank providing superior service would best benefit the community by filling an unmet need: giving back precious time.

A better bank, they determined, would get to know individuals and their businesses by keeping in regular touch with customers, not forgetting them after accounts were opened or loans were closed. By its very nature, this supportive banking relationship required bankers who take the time to understand their customers’ needs, investing the time to listen and learn. It meant that bankers would fully understand how their customer’s businesses operated because they have been there to see the business and will visit again.
